Safe access for smaller organisation and businesses
The Baudisch.CompactControl system is also based on the proven transponder technology. It features a programmable control unit with multiple settings and is ideal for smaller businesses and organisations that expect a professional solution for individually programmable access control. The access of up to 250 people can easily be regulated.
All components are pre-configured from the factory. Also here, value has been placed on a simple and quick installation and start-up option.
Possible applications
Baudisch.CompactControl is applicable everywhere, where the access for more than 10 people should be regulated. Small volunteer fire departments, recreation facilities such as gyms, multiple clubs which share their accommodations with each other at different times, small to medium-sized businesses as well as large medical practices.
Performance characteristics
Baudisch.CompactControl is a compact processor-controlled device with LCD display and keypad for easy entry and display of the different authorisations. The access of up to 250 people, who can be divided into 16 groups and up to 16 entrances can be easily controlled here. Furthermore, 16 different timers are implemented.
By the entering in the system, people are divided into groups such as manufacturing, administration, management and building services. Depending on group assignment and time of day, the access can be controlled to certain areas within certain time windows or for certain groups of people.
Access is given with the capture of transponder chips which are registered with the help of transponder readers. If a person is assigned in a group and authorised at the specific reader, the control device clears access dependent on a preset time period.
This clearance is given via a separate switch module, which is able to control two different door openers.
The entering of the various access authorisations or other data maintenance can be done via the LCD display and the integrated keypad. A separate PC is not necessary.
The display facilitates the text indicator and the adjustment of all parameters, of course, protected by a password of your choice.
It is also possible to carry out the administration with a laptop with the help of a small service software via the RS232 interface.
Internal journal
CompactControl always stores the last 500 incurred events in a journal.
At any time, it can be clearly seen when an employee has used what transponder reader.
Also rejected access attempts are naturally logged with location, date and time.
The journal can be read easily at any time and exported for appropriate evaluations.
Mounting/Starting up
The installation of Baudisch.CompactControl can be made by any electrician in a short time. The prerequisite is that the doors or gates are already equipped with electric door openers.
The transponder readers are mounted at the doors and connected with the control device and the switching module using a standard telephone line. Switching module and control device are to be placed in your in-house sub-distribution and the transponder reader is easily integrated in any desired switch program.
Immediately after connecting the power, the device is operational and can be programmed.
Of course, the system can be expanded even with other peripherals such as code locks or additional readers as required. This means you have a compact and powerful system for access control on a professional basis.
The CompactControl kit
Included in the delivery are two readers ID5-Eco which are suitable for mounting indoors as well as outdoors due to its casted design in a weatherproof housing, the control unit "Baudisch.CompactControl" including power supply, a switch module for two door openers and ten transponder chips in key chain format.
Why Baudisch.ControlSeries?
There are many systems for access control and time recording - ranging from classic cylinder locks or time clocks to sophisticated and complex electronic systems. Depending on the design, but nearly all construction-conventional systems have disadvantages. Complicated operation, error rate and lack of comfort have been the main problems.
Many reasons, therefore, to choose a systems where all requirements are fulfilled. Reliability, ease to use, convenient expandability and easy installation are important characteristics that must be met. Reasons that speak for a solution from the Baudisch.ControlSeries.
There is a simpler way...
Compared with standard procedures for time recording and access control based on PIN numbers, data collection terminals, mechanical keys, chip and magnetic card readers, the used transponder technology from Baudisch offers a number of advantages.
The detection of a transponder is contact-free, which prevents wear on the transponder or reader. No PIN must be memorized, no contacts can contaminate or oxidize, stored information can not be erased by magnetic fields or made unusable.
The procedure
Each transponder is pre-programmed individually with its own key number. A transponder reader generates a weak magnetic field with a few cm range. Now, if a transponder is held in this magnetic field, the internally stored key number in the transponder chip is transmitted to the transponder reader. The transmission from transponder to transponder reader is via air. The reader records this number and reports it together with its own code to a central unit. This central unit collects working hours and decides further over the authorisation of the imported combination of "key" and "lock". Doors are opened or remain closed accordingly.
Depending on which system of the Baudisch.ControlSeries, these messages are also saved and can be evaluated as needed.
The communication
Readers, control and central units communicate over the Fieldbus "EasyLan," a product developed by Baudisch Electronic. Data is transferred in a specially encoded and secure digital process, so that manipulation is not possible.
The connection is made via three wires of a standard 2 communication cabel e.g. n x 2 x 0.6 mm J-Y(ST)Y and can be implemented with distances up to 1,000 meters between the individual components. The devices in the ControlSeries are compatible with each other. Thus, already connected components can continued to be used in a system upgrade.
Appropriate modules are available for the implementation of "EasyLan" to standard Ethernet, RS232 or USB. The integration of PC's or the networking of individual "EasyLan" bus segments is therefore easily possible.
Safety first
To open the door unauthorized by manipulation of the transponder reader is impossible. The code of the transponder is simply identified and forwarded.
The decision of authorisation access which opens the door is made in the central unit, which controls the electric door opener on a separate switch module. This switch module is a programmable two-channel relay unit. Since the central unit and switch module are located in the building, the system is protected against abuse.
Power outage
In such a case, the so-called "fallback level" comes into play. This term is referred to an emergency system, which ensures the implementation of the most important functions in case of main system failure i.e to open a locked door.
The working hours
The same components are used for the recording of working time as for the access control, i.e. transponder chip and transponder reader. For each type of working hour entry ( beginning hours, ending hours and business trip ), a separate transponder reader is installed and configured according to its function. The transponder for the door also serves the recording of the working hours.
The advantages
In case of loss of a conventional key, usually the associated lock or the complete system must be replaced. Apart from the time and effort, mostly it generates significant costs.
Unlike the series of systems of the Baudisch.ControlSeries: the authorisation of the chips can always be deleted without having to replace parts of the system. Also, authorisations of new transponders are entered in no time in case additional chips are needed or to replace lost ones. Deleted chips are rejected as unknown until they are reestablished.
No expensive data collection terminal for the time recording has to be installed in hallways or entrances, which operation must be taught separately usually with considerable effort. Depending on the system, each employee may retrieve his current data at any integrated PC in the system, which takes off a major burden from accounting.
