Safe access control for house and garage
A simple and convenient introduction to the world of professional access control using transponder technology is available using the Baudisch.PrivateControl. The factory pre-configured components are easy to install, reliable and robust.
The used transponder technology is insensitive, easy to use, inexpensive and easily upgradeable. If additional timers are used, then various time-dependent access authorisations can be assigned for cleaning staff ect..
Possible applications
The applications of Baudisch.PrivateControl are diverse and found in the private sector, in small businesses such as bakeries, pharmacies but also in medical practices to secure specific areas such as a laboratory. Everywhere, where the access is to be controlled with a maximum of two entrances and 20 people.
Performance characteristics
The core of Baudisch.PrivateControl is a small control unit which takes over the evaluation for up to two transponder readers. Depending on the result, the garage door and front door can be controlled through the system via two relay contacts using electric door openers, while for example the back door permanently remains closed.
These two relays are programmed separately from each other and each can capture up to 20 authorised transponders.
The data transmission from transponder reader to control unit takes place via an in-house data protocol, which is completely tamper-proof.
Mounting/Installation
Baudisch.PrivateControl can be installed and ready for operation within the shortest time. The only requirement is an electric door opener and a power supply for the control unit.
The transponder readers at the doors can be mounted in various housings either flush-mounted or directly on the wall. They are available as single units or for integration in existing installation systems. The recommended reader ID5-Eco used with Baudisch.PrivatControl is fully weatherproof due to complete casting, compact and flatly mounted on almost any surface material in-house and outdoors.
The control module is installed in the switch box and connected to the transponder readers. For the power supply, an appropriate transformer for top hat rail mounting is available, or alternatively a power supply can be used.
The unit is operational after connecting the door contacts and the power supply. All chips are authorised to selectively operate both door openers the way they are delivered with the factory pre-configuration.
The programming and erasing of the transponder is made per door opener with a button directly on the central unit. By shortly pressing the button, the unit switches to programming, and by longer delete. Within minutes, all the required transponder chips are entered in the system.
The Baudisch.PrivateControl kit
The basic equipment of the Baudisch.PrivateControl kit includes the control module, two transponder readers of the type ID5-Eco, 10 transponder chips as well as the appropriate transformer for the power supply.
Why Baudisch.ControlSeries?
There are many systems for access control and time recording - ranging from classic cylinder locks or time clocks to sophisticated and complex electronic systems. Depending on the design, but nearly all construction-conventional systems have disadvantages. Complicated operation, error rate and lack of comfort have been the main problems.
Many reasons, therefore, to choose a systems where all requirements are fulfilled. Reliability, easy to use, convenient expandability and easy installation are important characteristics that must be met. Reasons that speak for a solution from the Baudisch.ControlSeries.
There is a simpler way...
Compared with standard procedures for time recording and access control based on PIN numbers, data collection terminals, mechanical keys, chip and magnetic card readers, the used transponder technology from Baudisch offers a number of advantages.
The detection of a transponder is contact-free, which prevents wear on the transponder and reader. No PIN must be memorized, no contacts are contaminated or oxidized, stored information can not be erased by magnetic fields or made unusable.
The procedure
Each transponder is pre-programmed individually with its own key number. A transponder reader generates a weak magnetic field with a range of a few cm. Now, if a transponder is held in this magnetic field, the internally stored key number in the transponder chip is transmitted to the transponder reader. The transmission from transponder to transponder reader is via air. The reader records this number and reports it together with its own code to a central unit. This central unit collects working hours and decides further over the authorisation of the imported combination of "key" and "lock". Doors are opened or remain closed accordingly.
Depending on which system of the Baudisch.ControlSeries, these messages are also saved and can be evaluated as needed.
The communication
Readers, control and central units communicate over the Fieldbus "EasyLan," a product developed by Baudisch Electronic. Data is transferred in a specially encoded and secure digital process, so that manipulation is not possible.
The connection is made via three wires of a standard 2 communication cabel e.g. n x 2 x 0.6 mm J-Y(ST)Y and can be implemented with distances up to 1,000 meters between the individual components. The devices in the ControlSeries are compatible with each other. Thus, already connected components can continued to be used in a system upgrade.
Appropriate modules are available for the implementation of "EasyLan" to standard Ethernet, RS232 or USB. The integration of PC's or the networking of individual "EasyLan" bus segments is therefore easily possible.
Safety first
To open the door unauthorized by manipulation of the transponder reader is impossible. The transponder reader simply identifies the code of the transponder and forwards it.
The decision of authorisation access which opens the door is made in the central unit, which controls the electric door opener on a separate switch module. This switch module is a programmable two-channel relay unit. Since the central unit and switch module are located in the building, the system is protected against abuse.
Power outage
In such a case, the so-called "fallback level" comes into play. This term is referred to an emergency system, which ensures the implementation of the most important functions in case of main system failure i.e to open a locked door.
The working hours
The same components are used for the recording of working time as for the access control, i.e. transponder chip and transponder reader. For each type of working hour entry ( beginning hours, ending hours and business trip ), a separate transponder reader is installed and configured according to its function. The transponder for the door also serves the recording of the working hours.
The advantages
In case of loss of a conventional key, usually the associated lock or the complete system must be replaced. Apart from the time and effort, in most cases it generates significant costs.
Different with the series of systems from the Baudisch.ControlSeries: the authorisation of the chips can always be deleted without having to replace parts of the system. Also, authorisations of new transponders are entered in no time in case additional chips are needed or to replace lost ones. Deleted chips are rejected as unknown until they are reestablished.
No expensive data collection terminal for the time recording has to be installed in hallways or entrances, which operation must be taught separately usually with considerable effort. Depending on the system, each employee may retrieve his current data at any integrated PC in the system, which relieves accounting of a major burden.
